Quick question, does anyone know how I disable the thing that prevents me from getting anonymous comments?

Which is to say, how do I make it so people I do not know are allowed to comment?

Enlighten us?

go to Manage -> Info

find the text "Enable message boards"
and there will be one that says "Who can reply to your entries?" and change that to "Registered Users"

or, if you wanna be slick, you can allow Anybody, but track ip for the annoymous accounts.

I think what you're looking for is on the Edit Info page down under the "message boards" section where it talks about allowing comments. There's three options there and one of them is logging IP addresses, another is whose comments are screened and the third is who can reply.

Under edit member info, scroll down and find the Enable message boards check box. Under that there should be a drop down box that says Who can reply to your entries? and select Registered Users. Tada!

1. Make sure you’re logged in.
2. Go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/
3. Click on “Edit Personal Information”
4. Scroll down to “Privacy Options”
5. One of the options is “Enable message boards,” which should already be checked in your case. You can uncheck it if you no longer want comments. To limit who can comment, go to step 6.
6. For “Who can reply to your entries?” you have three options:
·Anybody—anyone can post, even anonymously
·Registered Users—only LJ users can post, presumably not anonymously
·Friends only—only the users you’ve defined as friends can post.

Just pick the setting that you want, and that’s it!

In case you were wondering, I’m one of Sang-sama’s friends from high school. Hope you don’t mind someone who doesn’t know you posting a comment (since that's what you're trying to avoid), just trying to help…

Oh no, I don't mind. I wasn't trying to avoid that at all, actually, I was trying to make it so two of my friends who don't have journals can comment. :)
