sake_butterfly left. Clearly that is my pain.
And now, what you've all been waiting for, My Weekend with Aja.
Thursday spited (spote?) me by starting to snow after I went to bed at 4 am. If I had stayed up all night, clearly the weather would have been clear. Anyway, caught a Van Galder bus down to Midway, and ended up taking the "Executive Bus" down most of the way. It was comfy and I slept the whole way there. Waited anxiously for Aja, doing everything short of spinning in circles, and then launched down the...hall when she showed up. She launched back. There was launching. It was amazing. And I did not knock her over. This time...
Caught a shitty bus with a spooky driver half-way back, who threatened to leave us to die at a service center, but then we got another executive ride back to Madison, and got takeout at Takara. My mom also got Tira Misu. Don came over and they did that anime split-screen glaring-eyes thing at each other, except not.
And then we tried to watch Hobgoblins, but Aja gradually fell asleep and then I fell asleep and though I swear we later had a conversation about fried chicken, I'm told that didn't actually happen.
Friday Aja woke up freakishly early, and we flolopped around a while before summoning Bob and going down to State St., whereupon I bought some of the first new clothes I've acquired in ages, and generally had a rousing good time, complete with staying in Takara long after they probably wanted us to leave. The wonderfulness of my job was also revealed to her. Hooray for Four Star!
After abandoning Bob in a ditch, like I always do, we went back to my house for Shabbat -and it's the first time I've had someone over for Shabbat in a loooong time since Bob and Don hide and I've made Corin and Alex hide- and we ate chicken and I drove my dad crazy with chicken fears, and then we went to Karaoke Kid, where I hadn't been in about four years. Ah, karaoke, how I love you. My Japanese reading skills have gone out the window, and they didn't have popcorn, but it was awesome, and Aja secretly taped Bob and I singing like monkeydouches.
Prior to Karaoke, I made Bob read the very first porn doujinshi she ever performed for an audience, which led to us being in a car, in a nearly-empty parking lot, with the windows steamed up and Bob moaning as a policeman came over to make sure I had a permit. Good times.
Briefly aadventured over to Corin's later, showed Aja off like a prize, and then went back to my house to finish Hobgoblins before passing out like 2 minutes into Touch of Satan.
Aja doesn't sleep in. It's nonsense.
Was bedecked in my new clothes and like 27 conflicting fabric patterns in preparation for photo-shoot fun-time, and then we went to gather Bob and dress her up funny too.decken briefly appeared in the doorway and looked horrified. Having been made to look like a porcupine, we went to my mom's building and took awesomely hot pictures, some of which I will link to you because we all know I use a big-ass film camera and then have to wait for shit to get developed and scan it, blah blah blah.
VIcky and Brit appeared, and Vicky bestowed on me my birthday present (on her birthday, no less) which was a talking Al figure who says three things in an awesomely garbled voice. He's my new best friend. Saw "She's the Man," which, because I had no expectations for it, entertained me, and made me laugh, and inspired me to finally buy "10 Things I Hate About You" because I'm a sucker.
Went to Don's and showed Aja "Guitar Hero" as Don and JOel played Legend of the Five Rings, and then I attempted to thrilled her with "Oh! MIkey!" but she didn't love it to pieces, and then I fell asleep on her during "Reefer Madness," even though I was trying to fall asleep on Don so he wouldn't notice I was falling asleep and shut up don't make fun of my reasoning.
And then we went home, had some of the surprise sake that Don gave her, and fell asleep to "Girl in the Gold Boots." As you do.
I woke up to Aja packing, and briefly considered stealing her iPod so she couldn't leave, but decided against it. We watched "Sexy Magical Girl," which is one crazy intense tentacle rape trip, let me tell you, and I am ashamed to say I want to see what happens next. Although I'm not sure if I want to see more of that story, or more of the freakish previews that were also on the disc. After that, we embarked out into the world and stopped at Mistuwa, where I got the last two books of "Spiral" and a book by Kirino Natsuo that I won't be able to read. We saw Vicky too, and had lunch with her, and I gathered my teas.
And then we played the fun "How the hell do you get to Midway?!?!12" game, which involved a lot of missing exits and turning around and being lost, and me getting more and more tense because I thought Aja might miss her flight and kill me. And then we finally got there and I had to drop her off at the gate and I was very, very sad.
And then I drove home alone and got a little lost, stopped at Mitsuwa again to get bread, missed Aja some more, got stuck in a traffic jam near Beloit, then fell into bed missing Aja where I slept until the next morning. And I was still wearing the same clothes when she called to say she got home safely.

I had an amazing weekend and I wish she didn't have to go. She left her hat and I wore it a while on Monday because I'm a sappy doof and that's what I do with things people leave behind. It went so fast! ;_; COME BACK!
