HAPPY PASSOVER! To all who are Passover-inclined. We had a lovely dinner at my parents' house last night, and while it was the smallest ceremony we've ever had (there were only six of us), we had a great time, and ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
infinityduck had his first seder and there was super epic cake.
Now I get to eat terrible matzah-products for eight days. I went shopping on Saturday and good lord, every year I forget how freaking expensive kosher food is. $8 for a box of cake mix that'll taste like sand? Ughdsghdsk.
I have today off so I've been lazy but shortly I will clean. Also I've decided that nowhere did it say the 30 days of the meme had to be consecutive, so...you know. *shifty eyes*
day 15 → a fanfic
This one is totally not fair, because I know so many of you because of fanfic. I love to read, and I read so much fic - my downfall being that I really suck at commenting. But I've sought out a lot of my favorite writers and deftly attempted to make my friends. Hence my flist is ridiculously talented and I didn't really know what to do, except maybe to pick one fic by all of my friends and while I think that's an excellent idea, it's going to take me a long time to make that list.
So as a compromise, I've picked two stories that I read many years ago (before I met almost everyone on my flist that I didn't already know in person) when I was in Japan, and that have always stayed with me, influenced me, and made me happy. They're both fics from Rurouni Kenshin, one of my most favorite anime series' and the only fandom I've ever left and gone back to - more than once. It was that awesome. (I still have Kenshin icons. Yeah.)

And I don't know where she is or where she keeps her fics anymore, because I lost her like an entwife, but without the writing and guidance ofpairaka all those years ago...I don't know I would have ever started to talk to anyone about writing, or learned to make friends through it. ♥
