Spacethefinalfrontier!

I had a week. I'm trying to drink less soda, which is an upward battle, but I'm managing. Slightly. infinityduck and I celebrated the one-year anniversary of our seeing Star Trek by watching the Rifftrax, which was awesome and gave me some very strange ideas about Pike. And on Thursday I spoke to yawmin on the phone for a long time, which was excellent because it's been too long since I heard her voice.

I went through my icon collection and have so far designated 77 new ones to add on LJ, but it occurred to me that like...at least three of them feature people smoking. What the hell? I don't smoke. I've never smoked. It killed my grandmother. But...why is it used to such compelling artistic advantage? Why am I so fascinated by the imagery? I don't understand.

Anyway, there will also be a lot of CPine/Kirk, much "Phantom of the Paradise" and possibly a bottomless pit. I'm pretty excited, but I'll have to upload them later, as I must shower and journey to my parents' house for delicious breakfast foods. My mom, Beth and I are going shopping for a dress I can wear to Catherine's wedding and mebbe later a movie will be seen.

I love my days off. I love them. I love them so good. God I don't want to go back to work tomorrow.
