So this is my post about Puella Magi Madoka Magica because I pretty much just need to jump up and down about it.
It's the first anime in a long time that's really grabbed and affected me. The phrase "post-modernist deconstruction of the magical girl genre" makes my Oberlin/latent academic heart just sing with joy, and it's so well done and the levels, man. THE LEVELS. There's like twelve. Seriously. I cannot even get over how much went into this. I have six fucking icons for this shit now.
Also, it has given me a muse. And I hate muses. In fact I don't even believe in muses. I don't have muses, I have demons. But now I also have Charlotte (see icon). What the fuck. I'm so confused. It started by my making a Charlotte iphone cover for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
caffeaffogato, and then...I don't know. I find Charlotte (and this show, I guess, by association) inexplicably inspiring, maybe because it makes me want to craft, which is less painful than writing.
It's actually a struggle to not make this post consist solely of the word "CHARLOTTE." And if anyone is planning to watch it, I can't actually say much about her. ABOVE THE CUT.
