Sean: Lead vocal, bozo kazoo, sound effects

We should all know that I, in a fit of brilliance and fixation enabled by circe67, not only hunted down but became the owner of Sean Patrick Flanery's CD, horrifically titled "Johnson Was A Snowball Who Loved the Beach."

And as promised, I have ripped and now uploaded the disaster that is this piece of music, which could be classified as one of the worst CDs I own, although it ranks above the soundtrack to the X movie, and certainly delivers in humor value what it fails to achieve in musical non-suckitude.

Now this CD came out in 1993. If perhaps you don't quite get the implications of that, you have to understand that in 1993 I LOOKED LIKE THIS AND THOUGHT THAT WAS OKAY. Now translate that into music. Yeah, you're still not even close to the terror, the majesty, the industrial accident that is....





I forgot to mention that SPF was *28* when he did this. There's no excuse for that. I mean seriously.

1. Crooked Crosses for a Nodding God

"Feel the skin lock from your eyes/and feel the hollow of that which dies"

2. Ultra Violet of Light

"Violet don't be afraid/when animals cry/those tears that you save/are laughter to me"

3. The Best Friend That I Have

"Caught between the light and dark/locked inside the window pane/does it mean that I'm insane"

4. Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others

Okay, this is THE WORST SONG TITLE EVER. It's embarrassingly bad. Listening to it in the car nearly made me crash in shame and hysterical laughter.

5. I Can Fly

"Kicked me off your cloud so high/I've never been afraid to die."

6. Come In My Mind

Can I just say that I can't read this title without giggling? Because I am seven years old. Oh man.

"Hand in hand we will glide/on a perpetual ride/we'll dive down onto the shore/I'll bring the spring on once more"

It's also worth noting that in the liner notes for this, which have the lyrics hand-written out, "COME IN MY MIND" is written really big across one page. And the "i" in "mind" is dotted with a star. Sorry I just...the giggles...they won't stop...

7. The King

"There was an angry doggy/and a big fluffy cat"

8. Murder

"An empty chair/a wild eyed stare/will it ever go away"

Thanks so much for sharing that. It's interesting, kind of eclectic and some of the music is pretty good. My sister and I agree it's not too bad. She said that the Some girls are bigger than others is a song by the Smiths. And when she heard it at first she thought it was them. So that's kind of cool, right?

We've definitely heard worse. His voice is still very sexy.
