There was bad news, and there was good news.

[livejournal.com profile] decken cannot live with me and I am most sad. The clock begins to tick on the time I have left to find a roommate, and the sound is ominous. Does anyone know anyone anywhere who might want to live with me and an adorable guinea pig? Please? Tomorrow?

But I finally joined the rest of the free world and got to see "The Dark Knight" with Jack last night and I heartily approve, which I think is saying something considering my predilections and how non-superhero-inclined they tend to be. Christian Bale notwithstanding.

I'm also amazed that I managed to make it a whole month of careless internetting without running into some rather major spoilers, which was awesome, because I was completely surprised.

-THEY BLEW RACHEL UP. O.O I totally didn't see that coming. I knew she wasn't going to be in future movies, if any occur, but I didn't know why. I assumed she went abroad or something. I didn't know they BLEW HER UP. That was very hardcore and rather sad.

-I didn't know if Harvey Dent was going to make it out alive, so that was exciting. Even though his face did look like Liam Neeson in "Darkman."

Jack went with me and I'm very glad I didn't have to see it alone the first time since the Joker was scary on a whole different level than in the original Batman movie which made me afraid of Jack Nicholson for life. As time goes by I'm increasingly sad about the passing of Heath Ledger and the loss of his talent. It really was quite a film overall. I'll probably be thinking about it for the rest of the day.

...needed more Bruce Wayne and less vocoder horror, though. I like awkward faily socialite Bruce Wayne. Less time spent in bathat is okay by me. But that's why I'm an outcast.

In conclusion, if I were to write a screenplay, I would want Christopher Nolan to direct it. And have it star Michael Caine and Christian Bale.

I've never been a RAGING Heath Ledger fantard, but I agree that he was such a skilled actor. I'm so sad he's gone, because he totally blew me away in this movie.

Did the whole theater laugh when the Joker was walking out of the hospital in the nurse's outfit? Everyone was laughing at that scene when I saw it. XD

He really was exceptional. It's sad he won't be able to improve upon it in future roles.

And uhh...well there weren't that many people in the theater, but I think they laughed more when he sat down next to Harvey Dent's bed and was like "...yeah."

I know I was amused.

My friend laughed at various Joker-isms throughout the movie, causing me to look at him like '...uhhh O.o" more than a few times.

I developed a strange crush on the Nolan brothers after this movie...

Pretty sure you're not the only one who thought that Bale was a better Bruce Wayne than Batman. :)

Christopher Nolan took my heart with "The Prestige" and never gave it back.

I think I like his face too much.

Also the suits were specifically designed for the character and the movie how can you not want more of that nfjdgnkhk?

Oh, I've loved him as a director since Memento, but, recently found him hot for some reason. His brother too... Weirder thing it outweighed my love for Christian Bale!

Mmm Bruce Wayne.

One of my favorite parts in that movie, if not my actual favorite, is when the Joker crashes Bruce's party, and Bruce gets to be a badass against that one goon who catches him without any guests watching. It's something about the two persona overlapping for just a few seconds.

Heavens! What powers they have!

I stand by my attraction to his intellectual hotness through the Bale-vector. ;)

I hadn't even though of that, but that's very interesting. Oh now I want to see it again. And eat his face.

There's something so sexy about how calm and straightforward his actions are . . . and it's nice to see him do it with a suit and a face. I got to see it twice, and it was even more enjoyable the second time, imo. Knowing what was going to happen and picking up on all the wonderful metaphors in the script was pretty fantastic.
