This mountain is covered with wolves
Sep. 3rd, 2008 08:43 amYesterday was a day, and after that
decken and I went to the new teashop downtown, which was very exciting and fancy and higher concept than I expected. I mention it here because it was fun and also because they had a tea called "The Ape King" which I drank for
monkeybobert, in memoriam of her life in Madison. They have another tea called "Silver Monkey Paw" that I will consume at a later date for the same reason.
Today I may or may not get called by a girl who will only be around until December, maybe, but at this point I've just decided to go with whatever, so we'll see if she actually contacts me. I talked to her on the phone the other day and she sounded fun. I am hesitant to expect anything, though.
I did posit to her -and several others since then- that perhaps the reason I'm having so much trouble is because my apartment is haunted and I just don't know about it.
For example, when I look at my living room, I see this:

But I'm starting to wonder if it isn't possible that maybe when other people look at it, they see this:

It would really explain a lot. I'm totally fine with bleeding walls because hell, I can't see them, so I've got no beef with that. And it adds character or something, right? Regardless of whether or not this is true, I will henceforth refer to my apartment as Castle Bloodskull, such that it sounds as imposing as it apparently is to all other humans.
I have plans for hopefully supplementing my rent through magic, by which I mean commissioned buttons. I'll talk about that later, since I should probably do my job right now.

Date: 2008-09-03 02:26 pm (UTC)You're strange. I don't know if that scares me or attracts me. Possibly both. XD
The apartment sounds wonderful tho, but obviously we live in DIFFERENT STATES so I can't suggest any roommates. It also looks like a decent sized apartment. I am quite jealous. :P

Date: 2008-09-03 03:07 pm (UTC)I'm glad you seem to have gotten some more unpacking done and there aren't huge fans all over the place anymore. However, might I remind you that I already determined your apartment to be not haunted, as I survived no problem while you were retrieving the remote. No haunting or bleeding walls. Apartment is safe.

Date: 2008-09-03 06:01 pm (UTC)I'm not sure if Oni can see the blood - she's only been there once and was sort of tentative about coming out of her carrier, but that might also have been because Gabe had cats and the furniture might smell a little like them still.

Date: 2008-09-03 06:03 pm (UTC)And whose fault is the different states thing, Terry? Maybe you should give up your job and life and move here. I think that's a good idea. :p

Date: 2008-09-03 06:05 pm (UTC)True about the haunting, but I have the theory that it shows the bleeding to people who might potentially live there. Since you already live somewhere, it didn't feel threatened by your presence. And hey, I'm fine with any haunting as long as it isn't malevolent towards me.

(I live in alabama, the king of racial stereotypes, so I don't feel bad)

Date: 2008-09-04 12:49 pm (UTC)Perhaps next time someone comes by the apartment to look, you should blindfold them so they don't see the bleeding walls?
