The new Worst Thing Ever is waiting for a bus and being FREEZING on the outside while inside you have TERRIBLE HEARTBURN.

I think I got the heartburn this morning from swallowing my heartburn medication without water. Which I do all the time. But today? Oh what the hell I don't even know.

I had such a hard time waking up this morning and the bus took forever and my hair was wet and I'm still cold but ughgughughhhhhh the burning and where are all the goddamn tissues in this store.

All right, I give in, I'll make a GI appointment for as soon as possible, which probably won't be until April. ;_;

I did have a nice Thanksgiving, with lemon pie and a nice kitty and my pretty pretty girls.

Right now, though, I'm going to crawl under my desk and die.

Edit: So I did lie under my desk for a while and I thought I felt better so I decided to get a nice simple lunch from the Japanese place near work and I started eating and then I didn't feel well again and they've never poisoned me before and I dunno if it's that or if I just feel gross cuz I take terrible care of myself. Or something. I want to go home and sleep. Whine whine blah. ;_;

Ugggh I remember how awful I felt before they scoped my guts and put me on the right medication, like I couldn't eat anything even water or bread would give me acid all up my throat and forget about sleeping!
What medications are you taking right now for it? Because all the over the counters have different active ingredients so like I found only one of them actually worked (at all) for me while the rest did nothing!

You know it hasn't been bad like this for a few years now, I don't know what's changed. I basically take Prilosec twice a day for the heartburn and most of the time that works just fine, but I don't know what happened today.

I mean, I'm used to having off days every once and a while, but sheesh...

Also having brain-drugs that dealt better with my anxiety would probably help, since my stomach and brain are apparently directly connected in some horrible way. I have Prozac, but I think I might be needing to take more of that. Or something.

As a fellow heartburn sufferer, I find that severity comes in waves. Right now I get heartburn from anything from potatoes to bread to eating or drinking too fast. (I have heartburn right now, actually. I ate potatoes this morning and it's still giving me trouble.)

I usually counter everything with alka-seltzer and while that doesn't get rid of it it does provide some relief, thanks to the whole neutralizing the acid thing. If I don't have alka-seltzer I sip lukewarm, freshly opened ginger ale, and that helps to calm the acid, too.

I know how uncomfortable terrible heartburn is, and I feel for you.

It probably just got worse, OTC stuff can only do so much, I mean I was on OTC crap for years and then all of a sudden it was like "Nah, not gonna work anymore" :/
I know when I'd have really bad acid I'd have horrible panic attacks where I'd wake up in bed, couldn't breath, had no idea where I was and would just like freak the shit OUT. So I think it's very possible that your brain and your stomach are connected more than it would seem.

Either way I'd say if you can get an endoscopy to do it because even if you don't need to go on meds you could easily have an ulcer or bad juju bacteria down there causing it.
