Oh my goodness I'm so boring. And oh, I need to apologize for the extreme lateness of my cards this year. They'll be awesome and midwintery! You'll love getting nonseasonal mail! Maybe!

The new schedule at work is interesting, sometimes annoying. I worked a 12 hour day yesterday of my own volition (8 hours of it were spent in the back on various projects) so I didn't have to go in today and am instead sitting in a coffeshop eating crackers with [livejournal.com profile] jou while she sketches out a comic I wrote for her. Mwahahaha.

Tuesday much gyoza was made at the home of [livejournal.com profile] caffeaffogato and much "L.A. Ink" was viewed, for better or worse. Judging other people's tattoos and art skills is always a good time.

I've also become somewhat enamored of "The IT Crowd." It's no "Black Books," but it's pretty delightful.

I'm currently debating the merits of applying for a job as an assistant manager at a Goodwill store down on campus. The pay is better, and there are benefits, but I'm leary of trading one retail job for another, although the general consensus is I really should just go for it. If anyone else has thoughts, feel free to toss them in. Meanwhile, I really need to email some connections and work on my plan to trick the Wisconsin Film Archive into needing me.

Here is a chubby puffyface for your cheerful enjoyment on this Friday afternoon:

I say go for it. It's a better situation all around and who knows what you might be able to parlay it into? Even if it ends up being short term because you wow the folks at the Wisconsin Film Archive, it's better than where you are at right now. You will be happier. Do it, do it, do it!

I say it's worth a shot. If anything, it's more experience and it would be a step up pay and benefits-wise. Who knows, it might be a much nicer atmosphere as well and people may not be so crazy. The only downside I can see is that there will be less easy/convenient access to porn, but we'll make that work.

Also, "Edge of Seventeen?" Then again, I can really only handle listening to Stevie Nicks about once a week, tops.

YES, APPLY. You can always decide not to take it if they offer you the job.

When in doubt, apply!! Better to do an interview and realize it doesn't look like it will be that much better than to pass up an opportunity for some improvement, even just in benefits and pay for a temporary situation. Even if you got it and took it you wouldn't have to stay there if you find something cooler - Wisconsin Film Archive sounds nice.
