My two new favorite phrases...
Mar. 17th, 2003 08:16 amAre:
-"You scared the garbage out of me!"
and
-"My favorite part was when they started shaking you."
Both of these were spoken by my friend Seth as he was relaying the story of when I passed out in the science center yesterday from his point of view.
Yes, I have now joined that elite worldwide club of people who have passed out. Although it wasn't for very long.
I seem to have run half the distance of a five-minute walk in a very short time and then...my legs felt like they were jellyfish and I started to not be able to see. And apparently Seth thought I was okay until I was sitting inside the science center and saying "I can't see..." and then when I passed out when the security officers tried to help me stand up.
Ultimately I ended up getting my first ambulance ride and my first IV. That was bad.
Conversation while the EMT was putting it in went something like this:
EMT: Don't tense, don't tense...
Me: I want my mom! I want my mom!
EMT: Yeah, we never really stop wanting our moms...
Me: I want Don!
EMT: You want your dog?
Me: No! Don! My boyfriend's name is Don! I want my boyfriend!
I was lucid at this time, just so you know.
Anyway, I ended up in the hospital and ultimately they said "You need to drink things. Like fluids. Okay?" I was probably dehydrated, I hadn't eaten in a while, I just switched my medication dosage and...I guess that's about enough reasons.
Anyway, it was truly not the way I expected to spend my afternoon.
I am just grateful as anything and everything that Seth was there. I don't know what would have happened to me if I had been alone.
And in other, less exciting news, my brilliant Korean paper is two pages too short, and I probably won't have time to fix it until Wednesday, being as I have a test tomorrow, and then tomorrow night I have to fix my English paper.
Rock, home soon.
And I get to wear this neat paper bracelet the hospital gave me.
