maypirateI woke up this morning after about 4 hours of sleep and my stomach felt icky, surprise. It could be because of the medication change, or it might be that my insides have decided to be nervous about midterms even though I'm effectively done. Ug. I can't wait to go home.
People should be here in about four hours, and I'm excited.
And my Newsweek is really good and insightful this week. I'm so pleased....
Oh, and I suppose it would be callous, or ignorant, or something of me to not post something on the world situation...or at least that's how too many people here might feel about it. These are the same people that deface school property, spray painting our brand new buildings with shitty slogans, just preaching to the G-ddamn choir. These are probably also the people that put fliers in the lunch room that are poorly written and badly argued, that state the Oberlin is imperialist, that it fuels the war machine, that you can compare Oberlin in Lorain County Ohio to America on the international stage.
Bullshit.
Utter bullshit.
I do not agree with this war, but I agree that tyrannical dictators and those who wish to destroy America through the murder of innocent people need to be punished. But a walk out in this school will not help anything. We all already know how everyone feels here.
And you know what?
The sun rose today.
It'll rise tomorrow too.
My friends and the person I love are on their way to see me, and I get to go home on Saturday.
I am proud of my school and my country, although I think that the true "Axis of Evil" is composed of the men that form its government.
War is never all right, but my day is unchanged, and all that I can do, the best thing I can do, is to live my life.
