Fun times at work again, but the urge to rant has subsided.
Except for that guy who was complaining that he couldn't find enough time between 8 pm Saturday night and noon on Monday to watch a three hour movie. And then he told me our coupons weren't clear enough, and that we should rearrange the store to only have one cover box out for movie. Whatever, white people.
...this kid came in, and he must about been around 10, and he was checking out LotR, and I was talking with him about it, because y'all know me and LotR. So this kid was cool, and his dad was really nice, but they had to leave for a bit and go something, and then they came back and found out they had no cash, and we don't take checks. So I paid for their stuff, since the kid was cool -and that says something, since I'm HORRIFIC with children- and it was LotR.
The guy was really touched, and told me to check over at the coffee shop of a store nearby.
So Tuesday I ran in to get my paycheck, and Shawn and the owner Lisa called me into the office, and asked if I was the one who paid for a customer last week. And my mind immediately went "OH I AM SO FIRED NOW," and that they'd found out by looking at the receipts or something. But apparently, they guy was so happy, he was talking to people about how nice I was, and how great Four Star was, and Shawn and Lisa heard about it from word on the street. And they both thought it was an incredibly nice thing to do, and they gave me a $20 gift certificate for a restaurant downtown.
And last night, the kid came in, and they brought me my money back and gave me a gift certificate to the coffee shop. And then he called me short, and I said "I am the shortest person who works here," and he said "Until I work here! I'll get stilts." And since we're hiring, I want to hire this kid. He rules.
So karma comes back around and bites you in the ass, but this was a love bite, and I felt really, really good. :)
I've bought a terrifying amount of movies this week, by which I mean three, but that's a lot. "Tokyo Godfathers," "Devil Hunter Yohko," and "Ocean's 12," and I still have three things that I checked out the other night and haven't watched. I wish more people could be called at 11 pm to watch "Sleepy Hollow" with me. Ah, well.
Gonna watch FMA on Adult Swim with
