I'm with you in Rockland
Apr. 22nd, 2003 08:51 amUpdating more often? Now there's an idea.
I had a pretty darn good weekend. The show went really well and we got a lot of compliments about it being our "best show yet" although we seem to get that everytime...hmmmm...It was kinda bittersweet, though, because Connor and Mooch and Mark will be leaving, and I won't ever get to act with Seth or Jacob again. Siiigh...But it was good fun while it lasted. My parents were here and David came for the show, and he liked it.
We watched Infernal Affairs with Oliver and it was good, if kinda confusing at the beginning.
Sunday I felt sort of sad all day. I think it was because the show was over, my parents and David were gone, and all that's really left is a whooooooooooole lotta work. Ah well, it was bound to happen eventually.
I did get to talk to Don, though, which was especially nice since I'd been missing him a lot.
Oh, and in an exciting twist of fate, by which I mean something that really sucks, the WATER MAIN FOR THE CITY OF OBERLIN BROKE. I guess it's good that it happened after all my guests were gone, but we're under a BOIL WATER ADVISORY, so we have to boil any water we want to drink or cook with for like 10 minutes. Yesterday at lunch they gave out big bottles of water in the dining hall which was nice, and because the soda machine wasn't working, they had canned soda, which was easy to hoard. :) Still, though...I took the most unfulfilling shower yesterday...Apparently it's still safe to wash and bathe in as long as you don't drink it, but I swear my hair felt really strange after I washed it. Icky. I guess I should now have more respect for people who travel to/live in areas with no clean water, but at this time I'm tired and I have a lot of work so I just can't be that...um...humanitarian.
I have absolutely no ideas for my Korea final paper.
I have two ideas for my other paper, one of which is Allen Ginsberg's "Howl" which I read for the first time last night. It made my brain hurt for a while, but it was really cool. I'm gonna do research today to try to decide between that and pulp fiction novels.
And..um...I wanted to call Bob this weekend, and I forgot. I'M THINKING ABOUT YOU, BITCH!
And yaaay for Vicky and Chenya and fun at the Japanese bowl!
And yay Mink for um...food!
One of these days I'll get around to buying my shiny "Battle Royale" DVD...and Acen is less than a month away!
But I have so much work...and I'm so tired...
So it goes, I'm with you in Rockland.
