This time tomorrow

I broke our thermometer last night, accidentally whacking it on the kitchen counter as I was trying to shake it back to normal and determine if I really did have a fever.

I never got to confirm the 99.0 degrees it read before, but I did have a fun time learning about mercury poisoning. Apparently, according to Poison Control, you could drink a thermometer and generally be okay, because elemental mercury, the kind that's in household thermometers, is not easily absorbed into the stomach or the skin.

The more you know!

And today I got up early to go learn how to open again. Hooraaaay it's cold out!

Anyway, I have progress to report on the grad meme:

But the stupid thing is that the mercury that's in those little cookie decorating things is dangerous. Or at least it was a couple years ago.
