Watched FMA 9 with Don last night, and I realized I'd forgotten how good it is, which really seems strange.

3) Well, it's a whole plethora of reasons... One mainly being episode 24 where Scar and Al had the conversation where Al was all "When you speak to me, how do you feel?" and Scar very much comforted the boy, even though he WANTS TO KILL AL'S BROTHER O_o; Then there was the fact that hey, Scar saved Al by sacrificing his life, and while Lust tried to seduce him from it by posing as Esar's girlfriend, Scar chose Al over her. And the part where Scar says that he did this because he saw a strange parallel between the Elric brothers and his own relationship with his brother just made me believe that their love is just...WAY too deep. It's not quite Elricest, but it's pretty much there, because of the brotherly thing--except they're not brothers. Scar would gladly die for Al, as we saw, and Al has no real qualms about running in front of mad-bombers for Scar, either. That sort of thing is not just random. Plus the body size difference makes it real sexy.
4) It's Youko Fujima, which was made when I was but a wee 11, 12-year-old, new to the internets. The Youko ("fox demon") comes from "Youko Kurama" of Yu Yu Hakusho, cuz that was my first ACTUAL fandom. But now I just write it in hirigana, without an actual connotation. The Fujima (the kanji is "true vine") comes from "Kenji Fujima" of SLAM DUNK, my second fandom online. He was this really cute adorable awesomely gentleman left-handed basketball player-coach of his team, and I just had to "marry" him. So I took his last name (got flamed in the process) and became Youko Fujima.
5) Yes and no. I'm younger than 22, but I am shorter than 5'2.75". I am actually 4'11.75"

3. Roy/Ed because of the unequal powerplay (probably the same reason why I'm sinking towards Tucker/Ed), and both characters are very attractive. Armorcest because of Ed being such a guilt machine, and armor al having to be the reassuring one. Sometimes, I think armor al seems to be the older brother more. I don't like human al/ed because.....well, I don't know why. It just doesn't click for me. :D

Date: 2006-05-02 02:59 pm (UTC)2. I have always liked clothes and stuff? I didn't worry about what I wore in middle and high school, I think I liked being ridiculous. But now I enjoy dressing nicely. I guess I have a nice collection of clothes, but sometimes I feel like I fail at dressing nicely. Maybe my secret is that I buy things that are classic so I don't get into ridiculous fads and just look...nice? Um, next question!

Date: 2006-05-02 04:06 am (UTC)2. I've kind of adopted the name "Shichahn" or "Shi-chahn" or "Shi'chahn" for different contexts, so that could be part of the reason. It's originally derived from a nickname given to me by some friends back in high school when we were all big fans of Gundam Wing, so we took various nicknames that were somehow related to whichever our favorite pilot was. Anyway, long story short, my nickname sort of became separate from that fandom and no longer really means what it used to. I stuck the extra "h" in after the a in "chan" both to show how to pronounce it (since my other big fandom at the time had nothing to do with Japan or anime) and also because "Shi-chan" is taken on just about every website everywhere. XD;
3. I'm studying biology, studio art, and intend to go into raptor biology (the birds, not the dinosaurs o.o) for grad school.
4. Pokemon way back in middle school (I'm such a hardcore Rocketshipper, omg), Gundam Wing (no pairings, bleh), Myst/Riven/Exile/what have you (...can't really do pairings for those games other than the canon very easily, not that I would have anyway), and now FMA. And you know my pairings for that, especially since I just did that meme. XD
5. Oh man. Lots. Though sadly not as many as I used to, because college takes up way too much time for me to get much reading for fun in. I used to be really heavily into Anne McCaffrey's Pern books before they got stupid, because I love how she took a concept that's usually fantasy and made it sci-fi instead. I'm a hardcore sci-fi nerd, especially for cyberpunk like Gibson's Neuromancer and Stephenson's Snow Crash. I kind of hate most fantasy, but Harry Potter is the best kind of crack ever (in the addictive sense, rather than the hilarity sense) as is Dan Brown's stuff, and Graham Hancock's books. Boy do I love Hancock, and I totally shouldn't, but it's too much fun to read about how he bribed the guards in Egypt to allow him to sneak up to the great pyramid and climb it. XD I also love Bernd Heinrich's books about ravens, and really anything about the recent research into corvid cognition and interactions with human society.
Despite all this, though, my favorite book by far is Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves. It's so beautiful and creepy and terrifying and everything all at once. I would recommend that book to everybody who can read. Especially because once you've discovered the meaning behind it and the codes and secrets within it... I don't know. I can't explain it. It's just an amazing book.
