Yes! They even had a slick little line about it in the episode that made my Duncan-Appreciation Meter go up a notch. :)

It was really incredible.

Oh man. I'm still recovering.

I'm sorry this isn't VM related (I still haven't seen season 2...and won't be able to until Saturday at least) but can you reply to this survey? It's for my paperpapaperwrer.

0. Identify your sex/gender and sexual orientation.
1. Do you read and enjoy yaoi or shounen-ai (now called Boys' Love) manga/doujinshi?
2. Do you feel the male characters depicted represent men? Or do you feel that they are androgynous/female?
2a. Do you feel the seme (top) is supposed to represent a male? Do you feel that the uke (bottom) is supposed to represent a female?
3. Do you think the heterosexual male's enjoyment of lesbian pornography is similar to the yaoi/shounen-ai phenomenon in heterosexual females?

If you can get your friends to reply to it I'd appreciate it........pwease help! ;____________;

Yesmsmsmsmsmsmsmsmsmsms. I loves him. I loves him lots. I loves him so much. I loves. Mmm. After the semester is over I mean to watch P&P in one sitting again.

0. Female. Straight.
1. I do enjoy Yaoi/Shounen Ai.
2. Sometimes they are androgynous, it really depends on the story. Like FAKE, both clearly male, others the ukes are quite girly. Shuichi Shindo for example.
2a. Yes. It sometimes seems to work out that way. Ukes are usually blonde I've noticed.
3. Perhaps. I think it's just sometimes good storylines and pretty art.

0. Female, bisexual (although leaning more to the lesbian side of things)
1. Sometimes.
2. Androgynous/female.
2a. Yes.
3. No. I think hetrosexual men's enjoyment of lesbian porn comes from imaging themselves involved with both women. When women like yaoi, they are sometimes violently mysogynist, and in many cases even their self-inserts into fanfiction and so on serve no other purpose than to bring the two (male) leads together.

0. female/bisexual (though i prefer men)
1. yep
2. androgynous/female
2a. hum. yes. though why they can't just have two dudes in there is beyond me.
3. hmm.. to a point. i think that for men, it's mostly about the porn, whereas for women, it's.. half porn and half story. you don't see too many men reading fluffy lesbian smut and wondering what they're thinking after their first night together, you know? XD

0. Female and bi (more like, center towards left :p)

1. of course

2. depends on which series you're referring to. since some of them are like manly men, and some of them are rather girly boys... but i like to read the prettier ones, cus it's pretty.

2a. no, i think they should both represent males... since it's gay love... i don't like it when they make the uke waaay too girly, cus dude, they're still guys after all. it's true that some gay guys are just waaaaaaaaaaaay more feminine than actual girls, but doesn't mean they are girls...

3. totally not the same. hetero males enjoy lesbian porn with this mindset: "There are two girls, meaning four boobs and two vaginas that i can possibly get to have, HOT!" while most of the yaoi/shounen-ai fans are not reading it because they want to sleep with the two guys. they'd like the porn part of it, but not because they think they can get in with the two guys.

0. Female, mostly straight. Or slightly bent. Whichever.
1. Occasionally.
2. The male characters are men. Sometimes feminine, sometimes masculine, sometimes androgynous. But unless they self-identify as otherwise, deinitely men.
2a. Aggressive/passive roles shouldn't be gender determined. But yes, they're frequently written that way.
3. From what I understand, yes. From guys I've heard such gems as "there are twice as many breasts!" which was amusing at the time. For my part, I'm not fantisizing about adding myself into the action. I tend to prefer story over gratuitous smex - strong plot and/or strong characters please. I don't just want to watch the guys bounce on each other, I want to get inside their heads.

FEMALE

Why yes, I do.

2. Do you feel the male characters depicted represent men? Or do you feel that they are androgynous/female?

Sometimes I think the artist is going for the adrogynous look. But I always think of it as a male/male thing.

2a. Do you feel the seme (top) is supposed to represent a male? Do you feel that the uke (bottom) is supposed to represent a female?

Maybe it's supposed to but I think of both as men.

3. Do you think the heterosexual male's enjoyment of lesbian pornography is similar to the yaoi/shounen-ai phenomenon in heterosexual females?

In some ways yes. I think yaoi/shounen-ai has more to do with WHO is involved and the emotions they have for each other.

1. Yes, but the list of pairings I actually enjoy is pretty slim. ^_^;
2. I see them as men, yes. Sometimes they have a somewhat androgynous appearance, as bishounen tend to have, but they're still male.
2a. Maybe that's in some cases, but in the pairings I read, they're both men, and it really has little todo with women.
3. I don't really know enough about that to say, sadly.
