It's already tomorrow in Australia
Sep. 21st, 2009 12:47 amI removed my self-indulgent post from earlier because I get really...I dunno. Uncomfortable. Worried.
Suffice it to say, I have had better Sundays.
infinityduck and I had plans to finally print out and assemble my thesis for mailing, we had scones and were achieving and I found out I'd been supposed to open the store.
Which sucked because I had been convinced FOR DAYS that I had Sunday off. Which doubly sucked because no one was coming in until 1. Usually -because I do this once a year- this mistake gets found out at 11:30. Not this time. Cool.
So when I got to work, finally, and after I called my boss ("Dammit Amber, we can't afford this shit" (yeah, I know, but we apparently can't afford to pay the people who work here either)) I cried for like 20 minutes. At least there's some comfort in knowing that I can't be fired because I'm too important, but I felt awful for screwing up my responsibility and seriously considered sleeping at the store tonight.
After work we did get thesis stuff done, Chris bought me pizza and a Peach Nehi, we listened to the rain and took a nap.
sink_or_swim called from AWA so I could say hi to people. That was good.
I got home to find I'd left the pigs' lettuce out on the kitchen counter all day and it was all wilty. We have stacks of dishes and no proper dish detergent, and the rug is wet from the dishwasher accident I created yesterday by using the wrong soap. The garbage disposal is broken again. At this point, it was just funny. Not funny ha-ha, more like funny uhhhhhhhh, but still a version of amusing.
My roommate -who kept getting called to work more and cut thumb ouchily- was like "what's wrong with us?" and I was like "dude I have no idea," but I do have good friends. That's terribly important.
I'm going to work extra this week and try to do a lot of projects. It's not like I was ever going to get a raise anyway, but it's my personal atonement. Maybe if I'm good, at the end of the week I'll decide if I've earned this sweatshirt, which would be much more awesome if it was navy blue, but whatcha gonna do, the ST sweatshirt options are much more limited than I would have hoped. And as you can see,
yawmin, it's under $60, so I'm allowed to consider it. :p
The way things are. Start again in the morning.
