Songs are like tattoos
Mar. 1st, 2010 08:00 amSince it is now officially March, and March is semi-magical, I have decided to jump on that wagon de la band and see if I can't do this 30 day meme. I know no one's holding their breath. :F
Day 01 → Your favorite song
And already we have difficulty because of course I have trouble picking a favorite song. Yeah this is gonna go really well. :F
Anyway, at the moment, I'm obsessed with the "This Bitter Earth," which is linked in this post, but if I have to choose one (and since everyone does this with a youtube link)...
"Lover, You Should've Come Over" by Jeff Buckley.
And to be honest the first time I heard it, I didn't care for it at all, but it grew on me and of course there is a related fic for it in my head (for Kenshin) and...I dunno. I think it's lovely and sexy and sad and beautiful and the words are so ridiculously excellent. If I need a favorite song, I think this is a good one.
Other song candidates: "Epilogue: What If" by Emilie Autumn, "Playboy Mommy" by Tori Amos, "My Skin" by Natalie Merchant, "Hey My Friend" by Tommy February 6 or whatever her name is, "Decay" by Rie Fu, the entire album "Beautiful Collision" by Bic Runga, the entire album "Pinkerton" by Weezer.
