Less dungeons and more snacks
Jul. 22nd, 2010 02:20 pmI've been feeling creatively and verbally dead for more than a week now, which results in me not only getting absolutely nothing done for Otakon, but also not updating my LJ because I feel like I don't have much to say. I go to work, I come home from work, I fall asleep, I watch movies, I touch the pigs, I touch the computer, repeat.
So I'm gonna do another list-form post, because that's how I achieve these days.
-Maxwell Street Days was a nightmare, but for now, the terror is over. All I'm sayin' is I better have a new job by next summer.
-We saw "Inception" last night, which of course I thoroughly enjoyed, although it would have been better if a) it had featured Christian Bale, and b) had been "The Prestige." But that's true of most movies. It was certainly lovely to look at and very involved, and is absolutely worth seeing.
-OTAKON. This time next week. Maryland.
-An admittance that I wasn't going to reveal, but since my creative deadness has made it virtually impossible: I signed up for
startrekbigbang. And I'm 95% sure I'm going to drop out. No words come and my one story idea...there's really nothing there. I made the sad realization that I don't like Bones as much as I still like Chase, and what had originally been planned as a Kirk/Bones story with a lot of Sulu-interaction has become compromised by the fact that I've become increasingly interested in Kirk/Sulu. Whoops. And I can't even write a 10,000 word story anyway, so I don't know what I was thinking to begin with.
-I got my haircut. I'm sorry,
yawmin, I couldn't wait! Once again I look like every boy I ever had a crush on in middle school. But I like it. I feel unrestrained by hair boundaries.
-My shameless addiction to iced tea lattes at Starbinx knows virtually no bounds.
-I've been making my way through the "Things I Learn From My Patients" forum for the past week and it continues to range from being heartbreaking to absolutely goddamn hilarious (although some of that may have to do with my dark sense of humor). If you like medical stories, it's worth a read.
And I suppose that's it. I'm going to sulk about my bigbang failure a little more and look at pictures of guinea pigs and hope I remember how to draw before next week.
