Ten days later, we were in Chicago, and we were standing on the largely-deserted Northwestern Campus and there was a single plane flying above us and Harlo looked up at it and cheered "Go plane, go!"

And there was something about it that made me really happy, and to this day, I like to say that when I see planes overhead.

Here's to not being any better off, but don't stop, go plane, go.

It's a scary world we live in...and it's not going to get any better. But you're totally right: let's cheer on the good we have now, in hopes that it will last.
