DEPARTED WINS BEST DIRECTOR AND BEST PICTURE

My baby The Prestige didn't make it, but it was up against Pan's Labyrinth in both its categories, and at least the award went there, somewhere deserving.

Yay for Helen Mirren and yay yay for Scorsese, he deserved it and he was adorable accepting it and it made me very happy!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DEPARTED I UPLOADED THIS ICON JUST TO CELEBRATE YOU!

I, on the other hand, saw The Man in the Iron Mask and really thought Leonardo DiCaprio was kind of cool... but then it became hip and trendy to despise him, so I never really wanted to admit it. ;_;

I haven't, I've just been trying to be a good girl and there are still 2834729384892349 miles of work for me to do! ;;_;;

Also our internet? Yeah. It SUCKS. I'm leeching the weak connection from the Baptists next door. This is seriously getting unbearable.

I was saaad for the Prestige, but happy for Pan's Labyrinth and for Scorsese and the Mirren. In summation, YAYNESS OSCARS.

I mean, Pan's Labyrinth was extraordinary - but of course they'd pick the big shiny WOO-WOO fantasy movie over the quieter glory that is THE PRESTIIIIIIGE.

MM PRESTIGE.

Hey, how could I not be into it? It's got Victorian slashy magicians! With added Hugh Jackman! AWESOME.

I went to bed long before it ended so I figured I could find out who won if I checked LJ. I'm glad you didn't disappoint in conveying information.

Yay Departed! I wish Pan's Labyrinth had gotten best foreign film, though. Alas.
