maypirateI stopped playing Magic and/or buying the cards years ago, but some of the guys at work play so they've been looking through my cards and picking things out.
Just to check on a few things, I looked up some cards that used to be worth something on a trading site.
And oh, god. 4th Edition Shivan Dragon used to be worth $20. TWENTY FUCKING DOLLARS. And it's worth now? $.50.
For some reason that hurts me. Hurts me bad long time. These cards used to mean something!
I never loved the game so much as I loved the cards and I loved knowing they were worth something and mine, even if I never intended to sell them. I was crap at the game so having awesome cards was really my one strength.
I guess they cost less because they're back in rotation now? I suppose that's good or something.
But ow. How the mighty have fallen.
