Today I went dumpster diving for the first time.

Right now is prime supreme massive moving time on the university, and the streets are full of vans, trucks, overloaded cars, and THINGS.

I went with Rachel from work, who is a veteran dumpster-diver, and oh, the magic we found. It's amazing the stuff that people throw out; so much of it is awesome and most of it could be donated to Goodwill or St. Vincent...

But I digress. I did not actually physically go diving into anything, but I did do some digging at the roadside and climb a fence.

-3 pairs of jeans
-4 large glass mugs
-4 matching rice bowls from Thailand
-1 bowl that doesn't match but is still nice
-1 wok (with shampoo spilled in the bottom so it had a nice coconut smell)
-1 shadowbox
-1 very nice black frame
-1 square-shaped glass
-1 black Japanese-style mug from The Sushi Box
-1 small Japanese cookbook
-3 unused rolls of film
-2 spatulas
-1 t-shirt that says "Sunshine...is so fine!"
-1 navy blue sweatshirt that says "Eagle River Hockey"
-1 teapot (was purchased for $19.99, the tag was still on the bottom)
-1 light flowered dress
-1 extremely short and extremely whorey shirt to go with...
-1 zebra-striped halter top that Rachel made me take
-1 stuffed lion
-1 small bear
-1 box of unused cards with 50s retro art on them (they're awesome)
-1 string of lights with little paper lanterns with sakura on them (and all the lights still work)
-1 CD called "This Is The Best CD I Own" which cracked me up (haven't listen to it yet)
-1 pair of big-ass cop sunglasses
-1 antique-ish wooden chair that is pretty and fuzzy and has fringe
-1 picnic basket to carry a bunch of these things back
-1 tea-ball for loose-leaf teas
-11 beer pitcher things from the Rathskellar at the Union (apparently they require a $1 deposit, so we can take them back and get free money. Rachel took 6 and I took 5.)

And my prize:

-1 PS2. It doesn't work right, but I'm going to see if it can be fixed. I mean shit, dawg, how the hell do you pass up a free PS2?

So all in all, very productive. I did get icky water down my pants from the scraps of carpet we picked up for Adia, but it was awesome and I really wish I had a large hauling device to cart away some of the wonderful furniture I saw. Someday...
