Hurry up the cakes

jou arrived on Thursday night for another mini-event that I will call "Malita Conference." During her brief stay, we saw "The Darjeeling Limited" (which was very, very awesome and I liked very, very much), enjoyed some snakes on a plane, traveled to Virginia Beach where it was very cold and gray and awesome, and watched half of the first season of "Dexter," which is like Death Note if Light weren't a bitch and lived in Miami with a sister who totally ruled.
And then yesterday she vanished back into the mist, and I would have been sad had I not been hugely unconscious for the whole day. Apparently Sundays are my days to pass the hell out forever. However, I did get a little more work done on my thesis, and now the Godzilla section is largely completed, hooray for me. Also I finally uploaded a bunch of new icons, after only stressing about it for like 2 damn months.
In the excitement of Jo's visitation and a rush to get her present done, I forgot to say Happy Birthday here toenigma731, whose day was on Friday. Enigmichelle, I hope your birthday weekend was awesome and that this year sees you in better health and fills you with even more ambition and ideas than usual, and that you don't explode from all of them. I'm so glad to know you, and thankful that you provide an ever-positive House-y outlook to contrast my negative one.
If y'all are interested, and because I'm oddly proud of it, I gifted her the following story:
"The Other Side of Kafka" - An excessive crackfic for House M.D., wherein a patient exhibits mysterious symptoms, but that's not nearly as interesting to House as the condition plaguing one of his employees. Foreman is irritated, Cameron is frustrated, and Chase has a problem all his own.
