Driving up to see [livejournal.com profile] sake_butterfly after I get done with work, but I had to share two things first.

1- I have a new favorite disease, and it doesn't involved rotting! It's Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI). It affects like 40 families in the world, and when you have it, you can't sleep, and you can't sleep, and you can't sleep, and then you die. Over a period of about 15 months. You may become completely unable to function by the end, or maybe you won't, but you'll know what's happening the entire time as you progress toward your sleepless doom! It's passed through families because it doesn't set in until the early 50s, after people have had kids. It's a prion disease, so it's related to Mad Cow. I have a new book about it and everything. I'm totally psyched.

2- This is possibly the greatest picture of my dad and I ever taken, from my cousin Saul's wedding in September.

That would be me teaching my father, the college professor, how to make the gang signs of the Bloods.

Cuz I made it and he thought it was crazy/awesome and insisted I show him how.

I love House my dad.

Your dad kind of reminds me of Brian Cox, only not Brian Cox as he looks in real life. (You know, gray and sort of deflated.) Just how he looks in certain movies.

Does that make sense?

Now that I see what he looks like, your dad is indeed in Casshern.
Good job, Mr. Cohen! You get your 'blood' sign on.

To me your dad looks more like George Harrison, circa the Beatles Anthology. But that's me.

While we're playing "who her dad looks like..."

Dude! What are you doing? You're going to start a gang war on livejournal! You know how those gangsters love to blog . . .

You look so pretty in that dress and I love the picture, so cute and sweet. Yay father/daughter moments! PS: Yeah, my brother was trying to show me the Blood/Crip signs @_@ I fail at doing stuff with my finger...that sounded slightly off.

Eeek! Thank you so much, I really liked that dress, and for once I actually managed to make my hair look not like horror.

I had to practice for a long time before I could just throw the Blood sign off, but now I can do it with relative ease! Practice, practice, practice. ;)

FFI sounds exciting and crazy and terrible. I mean, it would suck to have it, but, man!

You look really good in that picture. ♥ ♥ Yo' such a G, May.

Isn't it awesome? I'm so psyched about it.

Thank you. ;;_;; I felt very pretty. Also, I am a THUG 4 LIFE.

I've heard of FFI - it is exciting stuff!

Oh your dad. That is a pretty fantastic photo. I like your dress! I notice that you chose to actually put it on rather than hang it around your neck from the hanger, which I thought was quite fashionable when I tried it.

Jessi at work got that pomegranate green tea that you have so I bartered for some. It was good.

My disease collection increases by one!

And I would have, but I didn't really want to pack the hanger. I guess I'm just lazy like that.

I like how it was supposed to be "discontinued," but that was in fact a gigantic lie. I WILL BE HOME TOMORROW.

Oh, cool. I've heard of that disease, but didn't know the name for it. And you and your dad both look like you have tons of street cred. =)

I am happy to have shared my knowledge with you!

And shit yeah, we totally do. I mean, my dad grew up in Manhattan, yo. And I'm from the badass streets of Wisconsin. Don't mess with us, word! Yo!

Also, thank you for friending me back! I'm so glad to finally be able to talk to you and not feel entirely like a creepy stalker. :)

That is indeed a fantastic photo, especially for the father/daughter aspect.
