And in other news, my mentor took her comps today, and "comps" is short for "comprehensive exam" which basically means that you spend like a year reading 2938472934728937 books and then a team of professors asks you stuff about them. She was really scared, but she passed, as everyone knew she would because she's great. It was nice to see her so happy and relaxed and free.

On the downside, House has bruised my heart terribly, my head is inexplicably killing me, I finally picked a voodoo doll but it won't arrive in time for my presentation, and the book for LONGEST CLASS EVER tonight is one that I've already read, discussed, and totally hated.

But I do have this exciting book on cholera to keep me from using any higher thought processes, and it's full of awesome things like "The first defining act of a modern, centralized public-health authority was to poison and entire urban population." Who else has something wonderful to tell me about? Something that makes you happy? Anything? Bueller?

I have to write an eight page paper by Tuesday on a book that I have barely started that thinks it's fun to quote things like, "a hedonistic descent into a plurality of discourses that decenter the world in a chaotic denial of any acknowledgment of tangible structures of power."

It doesn't make much more sense in context. ^_^

Haha my mysterious Black series. Yes. Yes. I must get a binder for plot bunny nests there. I tend to sort of zone out on AIM at night as in I leave it on buy don't actively IM as much during the week.
HAve been a little LJ elusive but yesterday there was commentworthy things (Lupin's porn- let me show it you!)

One day I'll write out those books massively.

Though I did give up on NaNo. It turns out when you file and scan documents for 9 hours you have little desire to read/edit/write after 5 pm. ^^;;

I already commented to your lj on the SUCK that is House 4.0
Last night was the first time I had it on but pretty much ignored it. I should have just finished up season 1.
Things that make me happy today?

Coercing the coffeehouse to make French Onion Soup.

Most embrassing moment- My boss just informed me that NOT ONLY did I accidently leave the toilet paper dispenser empty, but I er, apparently stuffed the toilet this morning.
Her exact words on that issue was- "There's a plunger right there."

I think I either have ADHD or need Focus Factor or something for work.

Cholera, yay! That always reminds me of Christina Ricci on SNL in a skit.
