Last night I got to be terrified and fascinated by the buildings of Epic where [livejournal.com profile] monkeybobert and [livejournal.com profile] donburi work, and then Bob wouldn't let me steal any old magazines. Tonight I'm going to join her for her yoga class, and see if I can't hit that shit up. I need to do something vaguely physical like that.

A short time ago, [livejournal.com profile] recrudescence offered interviews, so I begged one of her, and these are the questions she asked me.

1. If you could make a career of anything, assuming practicality and sustainability aren't issues, what would it be?

Sleeping. No, um...God I have no idea. At this point, none of my theoretical occupations are practical - they're weirder now than when I was a kid. I'd like to say writing, but that's it's own special can of horrible alien worms, so I guess I'd like to be a photographer, or a photojournalist. I'd love to be able to travel and just take pictures of all the fascinating people and things in the world.

2. Where would you consider to be the most beautiful place you have ever been?

The graveyard at Mt. Koya in Japan. That was probably one of the best trips I took the whole time I lived there, and everything about it was extraordinary. I can't even begin to explain without sounding ridiculously cliched or stupidly meta, but there are few things more amazing than sitting on edge of the tomb of Kobo Daishi, looking up past a Japanese roof at tall trees and the moon after running for miles in just socks. It was like an epic haiku.

3. Do you find it easier to express yourself through writing or drawing?

Um...depends on the day. I would have once said writing, but lately writing has been complicated for me. I find I can often express myself easily with a doodle of my vacant, staring eyes, drool, and a pencil stuck in my sinuses or an exuberant raising of arms. And when I don't feel well, it always seems to help if I draw me removing my digestive tract with tools.

4. Tell us about a guilty pleasure you have. In detail!

Reading bad fanfic porn and watching horrible movies, but I feel like that's not really news. There's something about truly terrible writing and film that fascinates me. How did they not know what they were doing? Why didn't they stop? Why is it so unbearable, yet I can't stop looking at it? Luckily, [livejournal.com profile] nymeria shares awful porn with me, and [livejournal.com profile] cecilmcgrlybts and [livejournal.com profile] homoshiroi enjoy watching trash so I don't have to do it alone.

..that's detailed, right?

5. Have any unusual talents?

I can sit in the lotus position with little effort? I can sleep on airplanes... apparently when I smile, I have six countries of teeth?

And now my break is ending, and it is back up front I go.

Sorry about that, didn't notice I wasn't logged in.

Just curious.

We work at Epic the maker of medical software (I do inpatient pharmacy quality assurance and he does outpatient clinic technical services, but [livejournal.com profile] maypirate can't remember that). The buildings are very exciting and full of weird stuff.

*falls over laughing* I have the same problem omg. Badfic is the equivalent of a bugzapper. I don't want to fly into the light, but I can't not.
