America: Fuckin' A

So today my mom is officially retired, which is great for her, but suddenly the thought of her being around all the time during the day makes me go a little wonky and again the fact that I really need to live somewhere not in my house forever rears its head. I started looking on craigslist for people around town who need roommates, but honestly it's freaking me out. Scary people live on the Madison internet. Or not scary at all, but I just have a weird uncomfortable feeling.

To be fair, the one time I did live with friends it turned into my Vietnam, and I've always been lucky in my living with people I didn't already know. But there's just something about this all that isn't sitting right. I kind of want my own space, I think, not to have to move into a house where I feel like I totally own one room, but am paranoid-ish about everywhere else. I dunno.

Maybe it's also that fact that all the possible places I've found so far either have cats or say no pets, and neither of those is good for Oni. Not that I don't think she could eat a cat if she had to, but... it just makes me squidgy.

Anyway, speaking of my pig, she wishes everyone a happy July 4th, regardless of whether you like America or not or even care - hooray July! She is Americapig, born in Ohio, in ye good olde midweste.



Here she enjoys the grassy grasses of ye olde Wisconsine in Americapig style. Mmm...America tastes like leaves.

Edit: Oni would also like kev and sink_or_swim to note that Wisconsin will be getting its sass on hardcore today, so watch yo' bad selves. You see us rollin', drinking Pasadena out of brandy.

Well I can't argue with how Wisconsin throws it down. I'll be partying it up with my fellow North Carolinians drinking beer and watching explosions in the sky. Word.

Aww that's the best 4th of July pig ever! She's so cute!

Good luck with the apartment thing. I personally very much liked living alone and having all my own space. It's nice if you don't mind living alone. But I had Mynock and you have Oni. And having parents in town is nice, too. Because you can always go bug them when you're bored/lonely and they won't kick you out.

Were I moving to fair Wisconsin, I would be happy to room with you. It has been clinically proven that I'm not as crazy as some other people we know. And I heart Oni. I still have a picture of her on my fridge.
