You just capture me like armed robbery
Jul. 5th, 2008 09:53 amBecause I was at Wizard Con last weekend, I didn't have to work on a Saturday! It was total madness! It revealed to me a world as many other people live it, one where they are not trapped indoors for 8.5 hours regardless of weather. It was fascinating.
But today, back to work I go. I think that's sorta lame, especially since it's so nice out (ignoring the caveat that I would probably sit on my porch if I didn't have to work and not actually touch the outdoor niceness with my hands but anyway).
In the spirit of that, here are some arts that I've done in the past...while that I haven't posted. Some of them are "misfires" in my opinion. Or weird. Or not. I'm not sure. It really depends on the day.
For a while now, I've been trying to draw more advanced/defined faces, and it's been frustrating me, and I tend to hide stuff. I think that, in order to come to terms with my artistic limitations and try to find a zennish place within them, I will try to continue to post more art in the coming days.

My brain is tied on with pretty bows! This was
jou's idea, but I can't remember the context...

Thomas Seyr, from the movie "The Beat That My Heart Skipped." I draw reel peoples?

Ai from Hell Girl. Initially she was reacting to a larger, more advanced picture of herself that I didn't like, but I decided to scrap that and keep the annoyance. I just can't seem to draw her right. I think it's her ridiculous eyes.

I've actually drawn a lot of stuff for Bonnie and Clyde but none of it seems right. This was my favorite one until I realized that her has was blowing backwards but his hat...was...falling forwards? What? Apparently in my world, the wind blows two directions at once. Whoops.

Tom. Regular Aidanverse Tom. Tom is writing a novel. See Tom write. Write, Tom, write. That's supposed to be his cat under the table, but I forgot to color it so it actually looks like the cat's white boyfriend Dalton.

Gideon Mack and the Devil, from the book "The Testament of Gideon Mack," which I read not too long ago and really enjoyed but then forgot to talk about. Maybe I'll get on that soon. Anyway, Gideon is a Scottish minister. The Devil is uhh...flirty. I think I want them to slash it up.

Temperance Brennan from "Bones." This actually goes with my one Bones story, where she came out completely insane. I sort of like this one, but I'm worried about the position of her head.
Mmm, delicious nuts forensic anthropology...
Yesterday Adia played "Trog" three times. I'm sort of wondering if we can do that again today.

Date: 2008-07-05 03:49 pm (UTC)Read my creepy Bones story! Moohoohahaha...or not. I would very much enjoy it if you read Gideon Mack, because I bet you would be inspired to write awesome things and I would reap the benefits. ;)

Date: 2008-07-05 04:19 pm (UTC)I went to yoga this morning and it was so hot. Why don't they turn on the AC?! I don't like dripping sweat onto my mat. This isn't bikram yoga, damnit! But it was good nonetheless.

Date: 2008-07-05 05:39 pm (UTC)This is actually perfectly reasonable if the hat was placed at such an angle that the brim was slightly below the plane of the wind. It's blowing the hat down against his face. I often have this happen when I am riding my bike!

...I feel like I should make an icon out of the picture I have of you sleeping at Ycon solely to use in conjunction with your icon.

Date: 2008-07-08 04:07 am (UTC)I think Clyde looks like he pushed his hat down in order to keep from losing it in the wind. I don't know anything about their real relationship, but it suggests things. Things that I like.
