YES I AM VISIBLE IN THE MOVIE "PUBLIC ENEMIES."
This is what everyone was wondering, and now you know (sorry it took me a few days). :)
And I will tell you where I am:
A little over an hour into the film, there's a scene where Dillinger (Johnny Depp) is driving a car down a hill in "Indiana." Behind him and to the left, at the top of the hill, you can see the backs of a walking couple - the woman is wearing a gray-green coat and carrying a shopping bag. And that's me! Ta-daaah! Woooo walking up the hill! I did that scene for 14 hours!
You might be able to see my forehead in a courtroom scene a little before that, but I think I got obscured by one of the actors. And I'm annoyed, because there are some shots where you can see the guy who was sitting next to me really well (who kind of drove me crazy with his failure!lighter), but the stupid lawyer man is in the way of my awesomeness. But once I can go through the DVD with the pause button, I'll have a better sense.
I AM A MOVIE STAR.
infinityduck and I dressed up and met up with my extra friends at a bar before the show and took a lot of pictures, and then went to the exciting fancy-ticketed premiere, which was much good fun. Afterward we went to a little party in Columbus (where that "Indiana" scene was filmed) where there was pizza and cake and champagne and a raffle, wherein I won a small framed movie poster and was quite pleased. I was intending to augment it with a larger poster for the movie with Mistah CBale prominently featured, but they may not exist.
It was very different than I expected. In that I thought it would be..."punchier," is the word I keep using. More sort of in-your-face. Tighter. It was more drawn out than I expected, and confusing when it came to keeping various player-characters straight. Johnny Depp of course was great. Christian Bale was great. I love Marion Cotillard but her french accent was still really discernable, which didn't mesh at all with the idea that she was midwestern, but... whatcha gonna do. I thought it was very lovely to look at, and I really liked the score/soundtrack. I enjoy a good fedora.
Also I knew that Johnny Depp and CBale only had one scene together, but damn. I wish there had been more.
It's not quite the gangster picture I had anticipated, and it does have some flaws I'm still trying to pick out exactly. But I'm thrilled to have been a part of it, and that doesn't change.
(And there's scene with CBale standing on the side of a car firing a gun and it's really hot so.)
And y'all should know that if you see it and don't like it, I won't be offended at all. As long as you are totally thrilled by my fantastic hill-walking and coat-wearing. :p
