Beware, take care
Jul. 20th, 2009 04:03 pmMan, I didn't even have time to make an "I'm going to Otakon now, farewell!" message before I went to Otakon, farewell. And then I proceeded to not use the internet for days. It was madness!
More on that later (because it was great), but I just wanted to post this on the off-chance that she leaps out of the woodwork again:
A girl whose newly established LJ moniker is
thievingsiren emailed me last Friday to claim that I had stolen an InuYasha fic her preciouswonderful boyfriend had written. The email was really passive-aggressive, rude, snotty, and basically said that I'm a fraud whose reputation is not deserved. She also contacted me through PM on LJ and commented on my old DeviantArt account (those messages were much more vague and asked where the fic could be found, etc., with no threats of "alternative action").
It's *my* fic. That's what really blows my mind. Not only have I never had any interest in ever once stealing someone else's work, I wrote that sonofabitch FIVE YEARS AGO. And it was frickin' INUYASHA. I can give you about a million details about the inspiration, the writing, whatever, and I told her as such. Because dude. MY FIC.
I hope that you all, being aware of my integrity (and the fact that no 26-year-old in their right mind would claim rights to an old IY fic if it weren't their own work), know this accusation to be baseless, fraudulent, and just fucking stupid. But it pissed me off, if only for the fact that I'm not okay with being accosted by someone out of nowhere and blamed for something I didn't do. It's my own goddamn story!
And I told her as such. Also I might have removed it from ff.net if she'd been nice, just to avoid an annoying situation, but...meh. No dice.
Anyway, if anyone on my flist gets contacted/touched/lamed upon by her...that's what this is about. She's also something really original like "Animelover210" on DevArt. The urge for a good old fashioned CoE slam burns within me.
I hope she doesn't bother anyone. Or me. Ever again. And if she does, banning and blocking measures will be taken. I'm bothered that this has bothered me so much and made me grumpy and I don't want her taking up any more of my time or tainting my remaining not-working-ness.
Did I mention that having "thieving" in your LJ address when you're trying to accuse someone of theft is a hilariously dumb idea?
My main concern is that she won't know what an idiot she is. And that makes me sad. ;_;
