Now that it's been a week since Otakon started (aaargh where is my life going?!?!?!?!) I will finally talk about that travel adventure.
Wednesday
-
infinityduck drove me to the airport very early in the morning and that was very neat of him.
-I successfully made it to
yawmin's location with my luggage AND on time.
-Saw
zoechan
-Watched Star Treks 5 and 6 with the Rifftrax, which was AMAZING.
Thursday
-Spent a terribly amount of time at Office Max and staples trying to get prints
-Upon arrival at Otakroooon, folded many t-shirts and made away with at least one and a free sweatshirt from last year
-Finally met
timbean, who showered me with beads galore.
-Sacrificed Aja's boyfriend to the VAMPS concert
-Had dinner with
timbean,
perivates,
jen_boo,
minigendo,
mossgreen and then made the first three of them buttons.
Friday
-Arrived at the art show and never left again. Mostly.
-Did more drawing that in the past few months put together and made buttons.
-Started to become very annoyed at the prevalence of Hetalia-ness.
-accidental gathering of people in room was accidental.
Saturday
-MOAR ARTING
-Uh...I don't remember what else happened. I think I threatened to swallow a bag of pins after dealing with the 28379th obnoxious otakoo, but it was all about a thousand times better than being at work.
Sunday
-STILL MORE ARTING.
-And then I had to go away. :(
In Conclusion: I spent less money in the dealer's room than ever at any Otakon, and came back with only three little prints, but a fair amount of buttons and a few Star Trek things. It all went by so quickly, it was kind of insane and sad because I'd been looking forward to it for so long and now the moment has passed...ah, well. Hopefully next year I will have a different job and the question of being able to go will not even come into play.
I spent Monday snoozing and catching up on LJ and all the Kirk/Bones fic I missed (oh god the addiction it grows) and then I went back to work. Fantastically enough, I will not have two days off in a row until some time in the middle of August. WOW, that's great and not completely utterly inconvenient at all!
But something that is actually fantastic for real is that
homoshiroi came home on Wednesday. And my heart was gladdened muchly. We ate meats and watched the MST of "Blood Waters of Dr. Z," which was truly horrible. It was great.
More current events will be logged as time permits. Urrgh, I dun like falling behind.
