Oscar Nominees are out!

..and I'm...largely unimpressed.

Okay it's a bit sour grapey, but I reserve my right to mutter quietly to myself about "Public Enemies" not getting nominated for a damn thing. I'm surprised that ST didn't get a best picture nod, and I also really don't like there being ten nominations. But I guess in the long run, there really weren't that many movies this year that I was really excited about, and I never had any illusions about non-technical awards for the ones I did like (b'cept PE). Blah blah blah whine whine, skewed video store clerk's view of the movie world is skewed.

I'll have to pick my horses out of things I largely haven't seen, I guess.

Apparently it was a good year to have been Sandra Bullock.

I love Star Trek, I do, but I'm not surprised it didn't get a nom for best picture- some of the acting and writing does leave a little to be desired.

I'm just really glad to see Up get nominated (in the right category)!

And I am so sick of Avatar I could scream.

I actually didn't think ST was best picture-worthy, necessarily, I'm just surprised it wasn't nominated.

I still haven't seen "Up!" It's because I'm horrible and also I'm scared since everyone talks about how they cried and I'm scared of crying in movies. ;_;

I ACCEPT YOUR DELICIOUS HAM.

Ok valid point it is kind of a sad movie, but it's also really really funny...if that helps? I think my favorite part was the giant bird (Kevin). I mean look:

I'm just happy to see that "Up" was recognized multiple times, and in Best Picture, no less! I feel the need to watch that again...and cry for about five minutes after the first part of the movie....

I would really like The Hurt Locker to win everything against Avatar because that movie is absolutely amazing...

...But I have been burned before and am not holding my breath.

It's too popular at work for me to rent it right now, but maybe I'll be able to sneak one away before the awards. I admit I'm kind of rooting for "Precious," but mostly I'm strangely fascinated by it.

I really really really want to see "Up in the Air" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox." I hear that those two are very deserving of their nominations. Invictus is on my "to watch" list as well, but I haven't heard anything about it, and I'm not a huge matt damon fan or anything.

AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT ALL THE HATERS GO AVATAR GO. >:)

I think you will like Mr. Fox, especially since it has foxes, and I know about you and foxes. ;) And "Invictus" is by your Mr. Eastwood. My parents said it was really good, although I'm still wary about a movie about rugby.

You are too cute. <3
