maypirateDue to various circumstances -mah birthdae, opening the store every day this week, not getting to go on break and doing two 12 hour days in a row and returning home with brains the consistency of mud- I've fallen behind on LJ and my flist so I apologize if I've missed something important! Also I feel bad that people seem to have had bad days and I wasn't there to fix them! I'm sorry! I'm hoping to not have to come in tomorrow, and I'll do my catching up this weekend.
Also I have decided to pretend that moving my 30 day meme back a day was my initial plan. Yes yes. Everything is proceeding accordingly.
Day 03 → your favourite television program
THE X-FILES!!!!!
THE X-FILES!!!!!
I love X Files. I love it so much sometimes I can't even stand it and wonder if it's ruined me for TV because a lot of times I look at the network offerings and go "You know what would make this show better? If it was X-Files."
I started watching it when I was 14 because of my friend Megan, and I have long since surpassed her in love, obsession, and encyclopedic knowledge of the show. But it owes much to her. <3
Not that there weren't flaws in it, or that some of the episodes seem particularly outdated now, and I like to pretend everything past the episode "Je Souhaite" of season 7 doesn't exist. But I still watch X-Files at least several times a week. When I started having panic attacks in college, X-Files was one of the few things that could help me to calm down. The characters are like my old friends, I want to be and marry Scully, and at its best it was and is so funny and clever and sinister and amazing.
And when they would run and their trench coats would billow behind them? God I love that.
And you know all that stuff you like in your magical paranormal alien ghost shows? X-Files was there first. ;) (Okay, so Kolchak was there first, but THEN X-Files. ...*shifty eyes*)
Other shows that I love dearly and are honorable mentions: MST3K, The Simpsons, Black Books.

I don't think anything today comes close to its caliber.
