Wind up Alpaca
Jun. 5th, 2010 11:20 amToday is Catherine's wedding! I think it's going to be awesome in a lot of ways, and hopefully it won't rain. I have a new dress and I forgot to mention yesterday that my mom took me for a pedicure, so I have pretty toes and feel much more glamorous in general than usual.
I spent most of yesterday traveling to various coffee shop venues with
caffeaffogato, and we bought a really cheap DVD set about "America's Serial Killers" because we're both horribly morbid people. Not the worst thing I've ever spent $5 on.
I got tagged by
thistlerose for another meme!
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.
"For years, Mayer was the only woman taxidermist in England. She was also the first female chair of Britain's Guild of Taxidermists, the professional organization devoted to promoting taxidermy in the United Kingdom. When I finally called her, she invited me to attend its upcoming convention in Nottingham. I knew that taxidermy had evolved differently in Britain, where it is a cottage industry with long ties to modern zoology, than in the United States, with its predominant hunting culture, and I wanted to meet the descendants of early British taxidermists, some of the country's most passionate animal lovers." -From Still Life: Adventures in Taxidermy, by Melissa Milgrom.
That certainly doesn't help me seem any less morbid. Oh well. I tag the following personages:
yawmin,
sink_or_swim,
jou,
jazzy_peaches,
inugrlrayn. And if anyone else wants to do it, that's awesome too.
Now I need to shower and stop eating peanut butter off out of the jar. What, I ran out of apple slices!
...That thing about feeling more glamorous? Luckily the rest of my life cancels it out. :F
