maypirateLast night the internet in my house mysteriously went down so I was forced to -GASP- read a book! And then I fell asleep. It was all very quiet and unelectronic.
Over the weekend I watched more of "The Walking Dead" with my usual suspects, and damn it's kind of irritatingly good, even if it did give me dreams where I may or may not have been eaten by zombies. I'm a little sketchy on the details. We also watched "Red Riding 1974," which was really good, and tried to watch "The Oxford Murders," but watching Elijah Wood trying not to slip into his Frodo-accent eventually became too tiring and the movie was uneven and boringish, presence of John Hurt notwithstanding.

jou will arrive, and it is now T-minus three days until the timbean adventure.

1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
I don't hate it, honestly, I just...it feels very tacked-on to me. No one knows what to do with the secondary bridge crew, so they stick them together. I dunno, also twink Chekov doesn't do much for me. I honestly thought I'd ship it, and I've read a lot of it in conjunction with Kirk/McCoy, but seriously, I like them better as superfriends.
2. Who do you know that ships #13?
sink_or_swim! It's all her fault!
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Well....they live together for a while, and slowly fall in love, and it's alternately very angsty and very snarky and there's a lot of bitterness and sharing of their personal darknesses, and eventually they learn to just...be the best selves they can be with each other. And Asuka is a bitch and Al loves her for it, and Al is sweet and Asuka loves him for that. They complement each other. Even if Asuka and Ed hate each other.
4. What is your favorite moment for #1?
Er. Hmm. ...okay to be honest I can't think of anything in the movie anymore, I've read too much fic. :F
5. How long have you been following couple #6?
I have many complicated feelings about them, and have since I was 13. So I guess that's... 14 years. :F
6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
I dunno, I just never quite got a feel for them, and they were, to be completely honest, somewhat of a stop-gap between my breaking up with one fandom and finding another.
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?
WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE THIS. ;;_;; Between Kirk/Sulu, my sexy Kikipups, and my precious beloved OC and his husband? I CHOOSE BOTH. They can all have beers together.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Lina/Zel. Hands down. It is the pairing I hate most out of all pairings ever.
9. What interests you about #14?
I dunno, it's that classic thing of pairing up two characters I like, I guess. :F Also Toph actually has a crush on Sokka and I think that's sweet. I'd like for her to grow up a lot before they got together, but... I'm just sayin'.
10. When did you stop liking #7?
Oct. 2006 when I had a weird pairing-related crisis of faith and just...didn't feel it anymore.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
Not really, it was on its way out at that point anyway, really.
12. What's a song that reminds you of #1?
"Drops of Jupiter" by Train is my ultimate song for them.
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Kirk/Sulu, Alsuka, Aidan/Tom, I always love Mulder and Scully being each other's not-necessarily sexual soulmates.
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Always Lina/Zel. Rahrg.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Uhh...I guess Aidan and Tom and Kirk and Sulu would make a decent double date, although I figure Aidan and Jim would do most of the talking and Tom and Sulu would just sort of eye each other awkwardly and occasionally wince when their partner said something ridiculously embarrassing (which would be like, every other sentence).
Actually I always thought it would be neat if Alsuka and Chase and Cameron from House went on a double date, but for complicated reasons, Chase and Cameron didn't end up on this list.
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
In the magical happy world funtime that I inhabit in my head/on my computer withjou, they have kissed awkwardly, Kirk blew Sulu and got kicked in the face, and then they started having sex and now they kiss and do it all the time and pretty much live together and wear "commitment rings." Which might actually turn into wedding rings soon, but that's kind of up to Kirk...>.>
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
They have THE HAPPIEST ENDING. Admittedly it's a kind of scarily co-dependent ending, but they love each other like crazy, they have an apartment and a cat and a pet demon and they finally have friends! Since Tom figured he'd end up alone and Aidan thought he'd end up dead and has always been lonely it's perfect for them and they're perfect for each other. The only thing that could make it better is if they had their bookstore/fancy bar. And maybe they will! The ending is not yet near written.
18. What would make you start shipping #14?
I guess if I cared more about A:tLA I would have very much so.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#4 or #5?
Funny you should ask that, since they're both Prestige-based at heart. I'd have to go with Aidan/Tom, though, because I know how "The Prestige" ends and that's sad.
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
They're good friends. They always have been and always will be. And they still go on quests together, with their respective husband Gourry and respective wife Amelia. But they never, ever get together. Ughguhgughughugh.

Lina/Zel is the worst pairing ever. Someday I can tell you about my days in the Slayers Pairing Wars. That was a dark time, my friend, a dark, dangerous, amazing time.
