Atashi wa SUTEKINA MAHOU SHOUJOU :EEEE
Mar. 15th, 2011 12:23 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
The days just fly by. Here are things I done.
-Friday: Celebrated anniversary with
infinityduck by eating sushi and eel, watching "The Secret of Kells," and going to bed at 10 with MST3K. GOOD TIMES.
-Saturday: used my birthday waffle maker with
jou and
infinityduck, although the waffle mix I picked out tasted all grainy and kosher. We watched "The Fighter" which I very much liked, and I got to be proud of my Mr. CBale all over again. Then Chris went to play a show with his band, and Jo and I were lazy people who watched SVU.
-Sunday: Continued to be lazy, went to late lunch with
jou and
sail_aweigh, then sat at sewed while watching Found Footage and such for the rest of the night.
-Monday: Experienced Monday. Got word from
monkeybobert that she is safely back from Tokyo.
I have to make a list of things to do before I leave on Wednesday afternoon, and a bunch of them are cleaning my apartment. THE CYCLE NEVER ENDS.
Here's the meme that's going around, which is dandy because
1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up: Olivia at the water bottle (and Nicky eating chow behind her if I lean down a little lower), my closet door covered in pictures that I put up when I moved in more than 2 years ago, my beautiful Asuka doll on one of the bookshelves (she really needs a new outfit), arts from
jou and
yawmin, my flower and Totoro-bedecked TV that I've had for almost 10 years now.
2. Cake or pie? The default is cake, but a good chocolate-themed pie is a close second.
3. What's the last silly/most giggle-inducing thing you did? Started watching "Madoka Magica" with
caffeaffogato and supplied helpful supplementary dialogue for the characters.
4. What's your occupation? I am the opening/inventory/collections manager for an independent video store that I've patronized since I was 13. And I love the store. I love it. I think it's such a good thing. Unfortunately, years of customers and my boss (who, if you don't know, is kind of like Pearl from the later seasons of MST3K both in stature, personality, and functionality) have made me come to loathe what I do. Also the pay is terrible, I'm a year overdue for a raise, and it's overall very thankless. But once upon a time, I thought it was the best job in the world.
5. What do you hear right now? The heater and various pig eating and drinking sounds.
6. Who was the last person you hugged?
jou, when she was leaving my house at 2 am. I hate daylight savings.
7. What is/was for dinner? Fried rice with corn, egg, broccoli and pork, made by Bitchcakes, I mean...
caffeaffogato.
8. What did you do today? Dragged myself out of bed, medicated Nicky and fed the pigs, hauled my laundry and the pigs' laundry to my mom's car, went to work, made a theme on "Japan" and therefore had a good excuse to watch ハウス (although no one ever really needs an excuse for that), came home, fell asleep instead of going to yoga, picked up
caffeaffogato and went to the store, started playing "Muramasa" on her Wii (which is by the people who did "Odin Sphere"), then watched anime. Then I came home and poked at LJ.
9. Dog person or cat person? Guinea pig person by way of cat person.
10. What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten? Alligator. I may have eaten raw horse sushi at some point, but it could also have been just really raw steak.
11. What was the last thing that you bought? An assortment of green vegetables for the pigs, like I do every few days.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Um, well, see usually I say Japan, but that's a little... difficult right now. Maybe I'd save the money and wait. I suppose I'd like to go back to the UK, though, and spend more than a week there.
13. Where do you see yourself in five years? I don't really know, I just hope my friends will be there too. But God, I hope I have a better job by then. O.o
14. Favorite book? "Little Fur Family." Followed by "Life After God" by Douglas Coupland, "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan, and "Stiff: The Strange Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach. With the occasional "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris just for good measure.
15. What are you doing this weekend? Seeing my family in California, going to a wine tasting, booyaka.
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play? I suppose I could always play the violin again, if I were better at it this time. The guitar would be sweet, then I could jam with
infinityduck.
17. Favorite color? Blues of all kinds. And then greens.
18. What are you doing tomorrow? Working, going to the library, cleaning my house, packing.
19. What are you looking forward to the most Seeing my cousins for the first time in two years, not working for a few days, hopefully meeting up with
mrasaki, hearing better health news about
yawmin and sending her birthday presents.
Dun forget, info on my
help_japan auctions is right here! :D
